Best QR Code Size for Posters

Poster QR codes often fail because they are too small, too busy, or placed too high. Good sizing depends on scanning distance and where the poster will actually be seen.

General rule

The farther away the viewer stands, the larger the QR code should be. A tiny code that works on a table tent may fail badly on a poster or wall display.

Poster sizing tips

  • Use larger codes for hallway, storefront, or event signage
  • Keep plenty of white space around the code
  • Do not crowd the code with too much text
  • Test from realistic distances before printing
